2024-1810-04S&ME is seeking an individual to join our team on a project with Southern Company as a Driller and help us provide engineering solutions to our clients.
You will report to Southern Company's Logan Martin Dam office in Vincent, Alabama for weekly scheduled projects and locations.
Extensive travel is required.
Travel expenses will be covered by Southern Company.
What You Will Do:
As a Driller, you will work under minimal supervision, and drill basic geotechnical and environmental drilling projects requiring basic knowledge of drilling operations including auger, mud rotary, and rock coring operations.
Our Drillers exhibit safety, quality workmanship, and integrity, and are dependable.
What You Bring:
A High School Diploma / GEDAt least 2 years of construction or drilling experienceExperience working around heavy equipmentA valid Driver's LicenseHAZWOPER, CPR, and First Aid certificates or a Driller license, a plusEffective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English languageWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:
Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs.
(field/laboratory samples and equipment)Ability to work and maneuver equipment, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sitesTraveling out-of-town overnight as necessary.
Working outside of normal business hours when necessary.
S&ME conducts pre-employment background and motor vehicle record checks, as well as post-offer drug screenings.
Employment is contingent upon pre-employment check results.
