Summary:

TCI of Alabama, LLC is currently seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator to assume responsibility for maintaining and growing a pro-active EHS culture for the Pell City facility by providing day-to-day leadership and direction for all of its employees.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all OSHA regulatory compliance and training. This includes HazCom, HAZWOPER, respiratory protection, ergonomics, emergency response, PPE, hearing conservation, fall protection, LO/TO, confined space, mobile equipment operations, crane and rigging, electrical, etc.
Responsible for all EPA regulatory compliance and training pertaining to RCRA, CAA, EPCRA, TSCA, and CWA regulations.
Maintain expert knowledge of existing and proposed regulations.
Understand modern safety and environmental improvement techniques and methods.
Conduct regular audits for environmental and safety compliance at the plant and at off-site jobs.
Demonstrate good root-cause problem solving skills.
Develop health and safety policies and SOPs for all plant and site operations.
Interface professionally with company employees, customers, medical providers, government officials and the public in all areas of environment, health and safety.
Provide technical guidance and training at all levels of staff, including hourly workforce, laboratory, and senior management.
Provide strong facilitation/presentation skills with the ability to influence others. Engage employees coach leaders.
Maintain and upgrade TCI's health and safety program to stay current with today's and tomorrow's challenges.
Oversee medical monitoring and maintain employee medical database. Interface with medical providers.
Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring.

Experience Required:

5
years of EHS experience working in a plant and/or manufacturing environment. Experience in metals recycling preferred.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

BS degree from an accredited university or college in science, engineering, or a relevant environmental, health and safety curriculum.

Preferred:

A Masters in an EHS related field.
CSP, CIH, ASP certification.
Strong problem solving skills.
Familiarity with environmental and safety management systems such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels including ability to write reports, policies, and procedures.
Computer literate in Microsoft products: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access.

Other Pertinent Information:

Limited domestic travel may be required (Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
